(from Dave Matthews' "You and Me")
...pack your bags, something small
Take what you need and we'll disappear
Without a trace we'll be gone
Moon and the stars will follow the car
And then when we get to the ocean
Gonna take a boat to the end of the world
All the way to the end of the world
Oh, and when the kids are old enough
We're gonna teach them to fly...
...you and I are not tied to the ground
Not falling but rising like rolling around
Eyes closed above the rooftops
With eyes closed we're gonna spin through the stars
Our arms wide as the sky we're gonna ride the blue
All the way to the end of the world
When the kids are old enough we're gonna teach them to fly
Doesn't THAT sound delightful? What would it look like to take a year off, a year out. Take the kids...have a HUGE life and learning adventure. See the world, experience life in a way you cannot get in a classroom or a textbook? Tahiti? San Juan? The French countryside? Barcelona? Costa Rica? Could I actually do that?!? Wow...what an amazing possibility to ponder! Now don't get all flipped on me, people. Remember, lately, lots of daydreaming. Future-tripping. Star-Gazing.
Tell me...where do your daydreams take you?

Kim...I have only met you once at Devine Memories with Susan Keuter....but I loved your post today. I say GO FOR IT!!!!

I'd rent a house in Tuscany and cook, knit, sightsee and just sit and enjoy the view.

Hi Kim. I have just become a reader of your blog, having heard about it for quite awhile in the artsy world. I am struck by all that you have endured of late. I have been where you are. I don't know you, but I recognize your heart, your soul. It is the loss of our dreams and all that we held as truth that ultimately brings us to ourselves. So many times we have no idea who we have ultimately become, and maybe more importantly, HOW we became who we are. So, life socks us in the gut. And we cry, and moan and beg and bargain. Then, as if by divine intervention, we accept. We accept what is. And from that acceptance, we are given things we never even realized we needed. The most profound change and growth comes from the deepest of pain...and the happiness on the other side is beyond words....Love, Peace...

I totally just got teary-eyed reading Karriann's post. You touched it on the complete head my friend. It's true...REAL growth, love and happiness comes from all the trials and tribulations we endure. From the ones we put ourselves into and the ones we are thrown into.
To look where I am not compared to two years ago leaving a 16 yr marriage, no money, no place to live, but knowing deep down it was the RIGHT thing for me and my children. Spiritually, financially (to come), emotionally and peaceful again in our lives has been worth every blood, sweat and tear. Hugs to you both! And Kudos!
