Summertime, Summertime!
Last week the girls got out of school and we've been QUITE enjoying the lazier pace of our days. Lots of lounging around in our jammies, swimming, playdates and fun times. We've baked, we've entertained, and we're gearing up for our annual pilgrimage to the shore. Before we leave, however, we've got lots of fun stuff to tell you about.
First, my pal Allison and I drove these four young ladies the 2.5 hours to the Prescott National Forrest where they are attending Girl Scout Camp for three nights.
Alexis (far left) and Macy (yellow tank top) have gone to sleep-away Girl Scout Camp together twice before, so they are old pro's. The other two, Sarah (blue t-shirt) and Sophia (far right) had never been to this kind of camp before, but in spite of any fears they may have had, they were SURE EXCITED!
After we helped register the girls and escort them through feet and lice checks (all together now...EEEWWWW!), I took Allison on a quick tour around the camp so she'd have a "visual" in her head while her eldest "baby" was away for the next few days. Big silly girl and her big silly daughter both cried...mushy gushy girls!!! Anyway....back we proud Mamas drove to Phoenix, jammin' XM Fred, singing obscure old 80's and 90's songs at the top of our lungs (ok, that was me, not her!) and laughing our silly asses off!
They'll come home Friday night....tired, dirty and stinky...but hopefully with lots of awesome memories and adventures to share. (Alexis took her camera, so hopefully I've trained her well enough that we'll have some fun 10 year-old-style photos to share next week!)
In the meantime, the littlest Kwanette has been having the time of her life as well. A 36 hour play-date with her BFF, then several more playdates one right after another. Her favorite cousin, Alec, came to babysit last night, and after kicking his butt at Wii, she pulled out her second tooth and (little rascal) called me on my cell phone over an hour after she was supposed to be asleep. Darned little cutie-pie!!!
She now has TWO darling little pearls dangling from her bracelet!
(This is where she screams "MOM! ENOUGH PICTURES!")
But, abiding by the rules of my Mom License, I keep snapping away....
Tonight Ifinally get to go see SATC....I swear I'm the last in my entire circle of friends to get to see it, so don't spoil it for me!!!! I'm going with two other girls and before hand we're going to have grilled artichoke appetizers and "Vitamin C" martinis at the White Chocolate Grill (stupid ass name for a restaurant, but great food & service).
